Global Sustainable Resources Management Trust (GSRM Trust) was established in 2019 as the legacy of Mr. Jim Tuchi.
A Global Legacy With a Local Impact
The purpose of GSRM Trust is to develop and implement the digital transformation of global funding, tracking, reporting, and accounting systems; providing Countries with the future-proof digital infrastructure required to meet United Nations 2030 goals for sustainable development adopted in September 2015.
‘30 by 30’ is a pledge by UN Member countries to protect 30% of the planet’s lands and inland waters, marine, and coastal areas, by 2030. This was further agreed upon by UN Delegates of the Intergovernmental Conference on Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction, March 5, 2023.
Referred to as the ‘High Seas Treaty’, the legal framework would put more money into marine conservation and covers access to and use of marine genetic resources. Secretary General, Mr. Guterres, stated “The treaty is crucial for addressing the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution."
